The assessment is an activity that is part of the guide on page 32/33. You can go to the Crossroads app or click this link to take the assessment. It will help you understand the condition of your soil (heart posture) as outlined in Matthew 13 and what you can do to improve the condition of that soil.
For Crossroads, a campaign has always been defined by a 3-year financial commitment with 3-year goals. This Push is different. It’s the 10+ year vision for our church. It is where we feel God is calling us and who we’ll become as a church community. So, while there will still be 3-year commitments, the vision and initiatives we are going after are much larger and long-term.
Yes, but only because it heard there was free cheese. Cows are highly motivated by dairy.
In 2015, we launched the I’M IN Campaign, which allowed for things like East Side, The George, Camps, Anywhere, doubling down on prevention, rescues, and rehabilitation in the India/Nepal sexual exploitation industry, and building more infrastructure in Nicaragua to support sponsorships, clean water, and education.
Great questions, and no, they don’t contradict each other; they complement each other. Here’s what we know: for the price of building a building, we can reach way more people digitally. Plus, we have a unique language that seems to connect with people far beyond our physical reach. We’re committed to being culturally current, and cutting-edge digital infrastructure is the universal language. All that said, buildings are the original, classic structure that many folks need. We know digital works. We know buildings work. So it’s not “either/or,” but rather “both/and.”
I don’t know, man. Guess we’ve just been drinking the Kool-Aid.
From the start, Crossroads has had three guiding principles that run counter to the idea of building up a “safety net” or “nest egg” account.
We use money to bless others.
We budget based on where God is calling us, not what amount we think will be given.
We spend money, rather than save up for future spending.
